Just say no to Carbs

I am addicted.

dragging a little

Oh my, Kelly found all of these people to follow me!  I love that people are reading my blog because it holds me accountable!  I can’t really afford to go to the weight loss clinic anymore, so this accountability here is AWESOME!  I can’t wait to read about other people’s journeys.

I’m on track for the day, but I’m dragging with energy.  I know I will adjust.  I have done this before and can do it again.  I am so looking forward to dinner!  I have some rotisserie chicken and some broccoli and cauliflower.  yum!

For dessert, I have a sugar free popsicle (15 calories and 4 carbs!).  If I can make it through this week being super good, I will reward myself with a low carb alcoholic beverages this weekend!

What was your diet/exercise at the Medi Weightloss Clinic? Was it a full time program or more of a nutritional/fitness guide?

AMAZING progress, by the way. Excited you joined Tumblr!

The diet was to stay between 6 to 800 calorie of protein and less than 20 grams of carbs a day for the first week.  I could only eat meat, cheese, and eggs.  On week two, I could add one fruit and one veggie serving or 2 veggie servings per day and that did not count towards my calories.   With the small amount of calories, they told me not to exercise.  I weighed in weekly and was under a doctors care.  I also had to take vitamin supplements and was given vitamin B shots.  When I got the weight off, I then was taught how to maintain the weight and that’s when the exercise was recommended… in any form or fashion.

How do you find out your fat free mass?

When I weighed in at the medi weightloss clinic, I was given a print-out… it’s all a bunch of formulas, so I’m sure it’s an estimate, but it calculated my weight, BMI, fat-free mass, and my percentage fat, water, etc.

day one (again)

so today I’m back on the wagon.  I’m trying to do week one of my diet from medi and it involves eating 600-800 calories of protein and keeping my carbs less than 20 grams.  If I can kick start my body to get into ketosis, I will start burning fat again.

my size 10 jeans/pants are snug and overall, I can tell I’ve added a few pounds on in the past few month.  I started at 240 and got down to 188.  No telling where I am right now, but my original goal was to be 165.  My fat free mass was around 125, so I know I’m not meant to be a size 0.  I just really want to get back to that goal… that I never reached.

My basic problem is that when I lost all of that weight originally, people complemented me all the time and told me how good I looked.  I tricked myself into to thinking I didn’t need to watch my food as much and then got lazy on the carbs.  Now I am still soooo much better than I was before the diet.

Today… I’m right on track.  I’ve had about 400 calories of protein and about 16 grams of carbs.  I’m planning on grilling chicken tonight and adding it to a salad with oil and vinegar dressing.  I will top the salad with some cheese.  For breakfast I had and egg with cheese omelet.  For lunch a chicken sandwich with only one piece of light bread.  I had a few almonds as snacks, but I counted them out.  Keep my high school students in your thoughts, I might be grumpy this week at school.

I know HOW to eat right… I just don’t always do it.  I let my emotions get to me and I can take down some sweets.  I want to get further from that original weight and get closer to the goal weight… that way if I fluctuate 5-10 pounds… I’m still what I think is considered ‘skinny.’

as for exercise, I usually try to exercise 3 times a week.  I’m laying off the exercise this week since my calorie intake is so small.

short term goal- 10 pounds in the next two weeks.  guess I should figure out what I weigh….
